I like the limited colour palette with the dominating red, which doesn't make the painting look busy like red usually does. The cold hues of faint lilac and blue give this piece a perfect balance. With these unusual colour choises blended in a soft watercolour wash and the different textures, an ordinary everyday scene is made quite interesting."
